The Next Step in a Campaign

We are entering into a new phase of a Death with Dignity ballot initiative campaign!

The ballot initiative process has been time-tested in our movement, and is the surest way to achieve the successful passage of Death with Dignity laws. The process may take time, but the rewards are worth it. State by state, we will bring the right to die with dignity to the people of the U.S. Having you, our supporters, by our side each step of the way is what makes this possible.

Campaigns take time, perseverance, and commitment -- a long-term view. With any ballot initiative campaign, there are several phases leading up to the final public phase. Usually, the general public is only aware of the final phase. It’s during these early, quiet phases that much of the behind-the-scenes work is done to lay the foundation for the public phase. We are currently completing the first non-political phase of a campaign with the goal of launching into a full-blown public political campaign through our 501(c)(4), the Oregon Death with Dignity Political Action Fund, in January, 2012.

Defend dignity. Take action.

You are the key to ensuring well-crafted Death with Dignity laws for all Americans. With your financial and volunteer help, the Death with Dignity National Center, a 501(c)(3), non-partisan, non-profit organization, has been the leading advocate in the death with dignity movement. Member contributions helped us pass a new Death with Dignity law in Washington, defend the Oregon law, and provide education and outreach programs for the vitality of the death with dignity movement.
