On Monday November 19, 2001 at 11:00 AM (PST) / 2:00 PM (EST) the Oregon Death with Dignity Center will host an audio news conference in anticipation of the court proceedings to be held Tuesday, November 20^th before Judge Jones. 

Lead attorney Eli Stutsman and physician plaintiff Dr. Peter Rasmussen will offer comments about the brief they filed today.  This brief is part of the continuing legal proceedings against U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft’s recent decision to prosecute physicians and pharmacists who prescribe under the Oregon law.  Scott Swenson, Executive Director of the Oregon Death with Dignity Center, will moderate.

After a brief introduction, participants will be able to ask questions after pressing a number on their phone keypad and being recognized by the operator.  The call will last approximately 30 minutes.  Interested parties who are unable to attend can access a replay of the conference by calling (800) 270.3140 and entering reference # 127436.
