Warm Holiday Wishes from DDNC!
Greetings! To some, the holiday season and thoughts about dying and end-of-life care may be incongruous. However, this season is a time of reflection and memories, and we, the staff and board members of the Death with Dignity National Center, have put together a report about our activities during the last fiscal year. Reflecting on our successes and challenges provides us strength and optimism as we face a new year, and we would like to share our accomplishments with you.
To read more about our accomplishments, please read our Annual Report.
This last year has brought financial challenges to individuals, families, non-profit institutions, and to our country as a whole. You have been very generous with your contributions to our organization this year, and we hope that you will consider a donation to the Death with Dignity National Center as you make decisions about your end-of-year giving.
As a non-profit organization, your gift to DDNC is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We can accept in-kind donations of corporate stock, in addition. Please contact us for more information about in-kind donations.
Also, we wanted to alert you to a temporary tax benefit, the federal IRA Charitable Rollover Provision, which is only available until December 31, 2009. It will allow those who qualify to enjoy considerable tax benefits by supporting the Death with Dignity National Center. The tax benefits that can result from making a charitable IRA rollover are listed in detail here.
Defend dignity. Take action.
You are the key to ensuring well-crafted Death with Dignity laws for all Americans. With your financial and volunteer help, the Death with Dignity National Center, a 501(c)(3), non-partisan, non-profit organization, has been the leading advocate in the death with dignity movement. Member contributions helped us pass a new Death with Dignity law in Washington, defend the Oregon law, and provide education and outreach programs for the vitality of the death with dignity movement.

About Death with Dignity
The greatest human freedom is to live, and die, according to one's own desires and beliefs. From advance directives to physician-assisted dying, death with dignity is a movement to provide options for the dying to control their own end-of-life care.
Death with Dignity National Center is the leader in this movement, successfully establishing, advancing and defending the landmark Oregon and Washington Death with Dignity Acts.
Political Action Fund
The Death with Dignity National Center partners with the Oregon Death with Dignity Political Action Fund to conduct lobbying and political activities in order to achieve the enactment of Death with Dignity laws in other states.

Patients & Families
The Death with Dignity National Center was formed out of a profound commitment to the idea that personal end-of-life decisions should be made solely between a patient and a physician. We are pleased to provide you with support and information as you face the difficult challenges ahead.
